We’ve done Mustangs with Prochargers before, but this one is a little different. The owner brought us the car with the Procharger already installed and wanted to do a little twist on it. He wanted an smaller diameter pulley for more boost, but a waste gate on the intercooler piping to regulate boost pressure, and allow for a better torque and turning a procharger into a TORQUE MONSTER. With this kind of setup he will be able to run different amounts of boost up to the max psi that the pulley produces.
Placement of the red Tial blow off valve and wastegate was definitely important. From the outside others had to know that this Mustang was something special. We decided to mount them on each side of the intercooler so that they’d show in the lower part of the front bumper. Their red color definitely makes their presence known.
The small diameter pulley can produce about 20 psi of boost, but the wastegate will be able to regulate it. The Tial BOV is located under the MAF on the left side of intercooler, which Would cause distorted readings. To solve this, we relocated the MAF to the cold-side intercooler pipe. we also added a PMAS Hpx Frequency Maf to allow the proper scaling for this setup This smoothed out readings and allowed us to get accurate data while tuning.
While we were under the hood, we upgraded the crank sprocket and oil pump gear as preventative maintenance, since they are known to fail. Once all of the fabrication was done, it was pulled onto our Dynojet for some tuning.
After some work on the Dyno this thing laid down an Impressive 702whp and 575wtq at 13 pounds of boost. The tune was Done through Hp Tuners. The blue lines are from the previous tune with the procharger before the smaller pulley and other modifications we did this time around. It’s definitely a substantial increase in power
Here’s some photos of everything all finished up.
Current modification list:
Corsa Sport Cat-back
PMAS HPX Maf
MMR Crank & Oil Pump Gears
Tial Q BOV
Tial 44mm Wastegate
3.8″ Procharger Pulley
Custom Intercooler Piping
We will be offering this setup as an exchange service with modified inter coolers and piping kits for anyone interested please contact us Sales@psiproformance.com
The monster of a Mustang got all finished up last week. This thing sounded mean once we got it over to the dyno, and with a little bit of tuning it put down 579whp and 465wtq at 7.7 pounds of boost! That’s almost a 35% increase over what it made at the factory. We may see this Mustang back in the shop soon for some more upgrades. With it’s extra 200whp, it’s going to be a good idea to upgrade some other parts of the drive train. Check out the video of the pull below…
Check out Part 1 of the build!
The new Mustangs are already badass cars to begin with. Once you add a Procharger to one… yeah, it’s going to be good. Under the hood, the coyote is a beast of an engine and makes heaps of power from the factory. But when the owner wanted to add some forced induction to the mix, we were happy to get started.
The Procharger kit was fully complete and came with everything little thing you need for the install, down to the oil for the supercharger. Everything looks super clean under the hood and almost stock.
They even took the liberty of replacing the hideous stock expansion tank with this nice black powdercoated one. It really helps to clean up the whole look of the engine bay.
Once everything is bolted on, this Procharged S550 will make its way over to our dyno for some tuning. It’s sure to lay down a good amount of power. Check back to see its dyno pull!

The shop was rumbling thunder yesterday with this rowdy Camaro SS on our Dynojet. It arrived with an aftermarket intake and exhaust installed and we unlocked the true power potential hidden under the hood. As you can see, a good tune goes a long way in maximizing the effectiveness of your modifications! Bring your car to PSI and let us unleash your cars final form!
